What’s New at Disneyland® Resort in 2023

Disneyland® Resort will be celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2023, and there’s a lot planned to mark the occasion. New rides, characters, and other special events will make your 2023 vacation even more exciting. Let’s dive into the Disneyland® Resort magic and see what’s new!

Your Favorite Characters Now at Disneyland® Resort

The characters that you know and love from your favorite movies and shows are now at Disneyland® Resort!

In 2023, you can meet Black Widow, Ant-Man, and The Wasp at the Avengers Campus. There will also be appearances from Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, and other heroes from Wakanda and Asgard.

If you love Baby Yoda as much as we do, stop by Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Batuu! There you’ll find Grogu and the Mandalorian close to its side! These two are fan favorites, so be sure to plan ahead for crowds of people stopping by to say hello.

You and your children alike will be overjoyed to meet your favorite characters roaming around the park. Say hi and grab a picture. They’ll be happy to meet you. After all, they’ve been the ones protecting you across the galaxy!

Exciting New Attractions and Experiences

We’re excited to see reimagined and new attractions enter the park in 2023. With so many great rides and attractions at Disneyland® Resort, it’s hard to believe it could be even better.

Wondrous Journeys

Starting January 27, 2023, go on an epic adventure through the 100 years of beauty and animations brought to you by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Wondrous Journeys is a 13 minute long lightshow for all ages displayed on Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.

The characters you love will be part of the show, taking you through a magical journey of state-of-the art projections, soaring music, and pyrotechnics that light up the night sky.

World of Color – One

World of Color – One is a new nighttime spectacular, just in time for the 100 Year of Wonder celebration! The event — which takes place regularly at Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure Park — will bring your favorite characters to life in exciting new ways.

This show will combine courage, love, and resilience to display how one idea can bring together great change. You won’t want to miss this 100-year anniversary celebration.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad

As an expansion to Mickey’s Toontown, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad will pull you into Mickey Mouse’s unpredictable and goofy world. Hop on board starting January 27, 2023.

With Goofy as your conductor, you’re on board for a wacky and out-of-control adventure that will put you on the tracks to a cartoon-based immersive, multidimensional experience. See Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their pals along the way as they help you to stay on track throughout your ride.

Mickey’s Toontown

In addition to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad, Mickey’s Toontown will be reimagined with bright sights and sounds that will be a must-see for families with young children

Toontown will have grassy spaces and play experiences for families to take a break from the rides and enjoy some relaxation. A fountain with water tables will give children an engaging sensory experience while creating an educational space within the resort.

Adventureland Treehouse

Climb into the Adventureland Treehouse inspired by Swiss Family Robinson. Search for Easter Eggs in the concept art as you stop by the waterwheel and take the wood rope stairways up into the tree branches. As always, no matter what Disneyland Resort attraction you stop at, you’ll want to take in everything because each piece of the attraction was thoughtfully crafted and placed for a reason.

Magic Happens Parade

The original Magic Happens Parade was supposed to debut just two weeks before Disneyland® Resort closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Now returning on February 24th, 2023, the parade will feature songs and characters from Frozen 2, Moana will ride the waves on her canoe, and Coco’s Miguel will strum on his guitar with his dog Danté – along with more of your favorites.

Downtown Disney District

The Downtown Disney District is always changing, and we’re excited to see what’s to come in 2023! New shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences are expected for the area this year.

Some new restaurants include some delicious baked goods at Porto’s Bakery & Café or dining at Din Tai Fung, a family-run Chinese restaurant. Check out the Disneyland® Disney LIVE! Stage, Flambeaux’s Jazz Club, or Splitsville Luxury Lanes to play and unwind, day or night,

The Downtown Disney District combines California’s modern architecture and technology to create a space that can be enjoyed by all ages.
