Seasonal Events At Disneyland® Resort
Planning a Disney vacation? While dates and events are subject to change, here are a few of the seasonal attractions you can experience at Disneyland® Resort throughout the year. Keep these events in mind while planning your Disneyland® Resort itinerary!
Spring
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival
This awesome event generally runs early March through April at Disney’s California Adventure® Park. It’s a true foodie’s dream with unique food and wine offerings from talented chefs, special culinary workshops and classes, and so much more. Even Disney characters get in on the fun!
Egg-stravaganza
There’s no place like Disneyland® Resort for an epic easter egg hunt. You can usually participate in this event in the weeks leading up to Easter! Don’t forget to meet the Easter Bunny too!
Summer
Fourth of July
You can celebrate Independence Day, Disney-style. The park is generally full of patriotic decorations, special food and entertainment options, and more. It’s a fun, festive day to visit (but expect big crowds)!
Disneyland’s® Resort Birthday – July 17
Happy Birthday, Disneyland® Resort! Every year on July 17, we honor the anniversary of the park opening. While Disney doesn’t generally actively promote this day, you may find some fun extras like special entertainment and goodies! It’s a fun day to visit and lots of Disney fans dress up, bring signs, and more for a magical “birthday party.”
Fall
Halloween Time at the Disneyland® Resort
You’ll find all sorts of happy haunts around Disneyland® Resort, generally from September through November. The park is full of spooky touches, you can meet some of your favorite Disney villains, and you can indulge in some tasty Halloween treats. It truly is one of the most spook-tacular times of the year to visit!
Día de Los Muertos
Be sure to catch this spirited cultural celebration filled with food, art, and colorful entertainment at Frontierland in Disneyland® Park!
Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party
On select nights during Halloween Time in September through October, Disney’s California Adventure® Park is home to an epic Halloween Party — the Oogie Boogie Bash. It’s the perfect time to dress up and trick-or-treat throughout the park!
Winter
Holidays at the Disneyland® Resort
Just like for Halloween, Disneyland® Resort goes all out during the holiday season, generally through mid-November through the beginning of January. You’ll see Sleeping Beauty Castle sparkling with icicles, thousands of shimmering lights, and other amazing decor throughout the parks. There’s also holiday-themed parades, light shows, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! It’s holiday magic to a whole new level!
Lunar New Year
This multi-cultural event, which generally runs late January through early February, takes place at Paradise Gardens inside Disney California Adventure® Park. Catch your favorite Disney characters, colorful lanterns, and banners in English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese! There’s also some fun Lunar New Year treats and activities for you to participate in!

Other Fun Disneyland® Resort Events
While there are “official” events and seasonal happenings that Disney promotes each year, there’s no shortage of fun happening regularly around the park.
Promoted or not, there are usually fun extras on holidays. For example, you can generally find some unique menu options around Thanksgiving and plenty of red, white, and pink decor, and romantic character interactions on Valentine’s Day. Star Wars Day (May 4) is also the perfect time to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and meet some of your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away.
Throughout the year, you’ll also want to check out Disney After Dark events! These special, after-hours ticketed events are themed and full of fun extras. The best part is they allow you to stay late and maximize your time in the park.
In May and June, you’ll likely see an increase in students as recent grads take to the parks for special Grad Nights honoring their big achievement. These dates are usually released just a few weeks beforehand!
There’s also a plethora of fan-hosted and unofficial special events happening throughout the year, including Dapper Days, where people dress to impress around the parks; Bats Day honoring goth and Steampunk culture; and Gay Days, which honor the LGBTQ community in conjunction with Gay Days Anaheim!
