Halloween officially gives way to Christmas at Disneyland on November 10, at least in the decorations department. You won’t find many embellishments that shout out, “It’s Thanksgiving!” in Disneyland Resort or Disney’s California Adventure, but you will find all the Thanksgiving savory and sweet trimmings. Yes, you and your family can enjoy your turkey and pumpkin pie on Turkey Day, ala Disney style.
Sit down options for you and your family
For those willing to pull away from the rides to give thanks and break bread the Carnation Café, Plaza Inn, French Market, Blue Bayou, and Café Orleans all serve up their versions of the traditional turkey meal. For a special Disney “Fantasmic” Thanksgiving experience the River Belle Terrace is your reservation. You get the traditional turkey dinner and a reserved viewing area voucher for “Fantasmic,” Disneyland’s pyrotechnical spectacle on the Rivers of America.
In California Adventure the Wine Country Trattoria, Carthay Circle Restaurant, Ariel’s Grotto, and Flo’s V8 Café offer Thanksgiving choices. The fanciest is Carthay Circle with menu items like Cinderella Pumpkin Broth with lemongrass-cilantro grilled chicken. Diners also receive a voucher for “World of Color” preferred viewing. Ariel’s Grotto is another choice that comes with preferred viewing for “World of Color” an impressive nighttime light, laser and water show.
Thanksgiving meal on the go
For those guests that would rather have a roaming feast, there are culinary options between both parks that can turn your meal into a Thanksgiving Day scavenger hunt smorgasbord.
Start off at California Adventure’s Mortimer’s Market and Boudin Bread Cart at Pacific Wharf for the turkey-shaped sourdough bread. Moving on to a soup course, diners can stop by the Harbour Galley in Disneyland’s Critter Country for the turkey tortilla soup or California Adventure’s Pacific Wharf Café’s turkey pot pie soup.
Main course? One of Disneyland’s iconic turkey legs, of course. There are three Turkey Leg carts in Disneyland, one near the main plaza, another at Edelweiss Snacks near A Small World, or the Ship to Shore Marketplace near the Rivers of America. At California Adventure you can purchase a turkey leg in Hollywood Land.
And now time for a sweet finish. The Pacific Wharf Café is offering pumpkin spice bread pudding or stick with tradition and grab a piece of pumpkin pie at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta. But it doesn’t end there! Rancho del Zocalo is serving a pumpkin flan during the season, while the Jolly Holiday Bakery is fully stocked now through Thanksgiving with pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin muffins, and pumpkin spice lattes. Or stop off for the limited time Pumpkin churros at the Cozy Cone.
Now that’s a full Thanksgiving meal! If you and your friends and family are too busy riding the rides to sit down and eat in the park, Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel has you covered in the Garden Bistro with a Thanksgiving Day Buffet complete with all the trimmings.
