5 Things You Can Do Right Now To Prepare for Your Next Disneyland® Resort Vacation

Pen, notepad, and phone on top of desk

If you’re dreaming about your next Disneyland® Resort vacation but you’re not sure where to start while the parks are closed and everything is so uncertain, you’re not alone. However, COVID-19 shouldn’t stop you from dreaming and planning for your magical trip to Anaheim. Whether you plan to visit as soon as possible or someday in the more distant future, there are things you can do right now to prepare for your Disneyland® Resort adventure. That way, when the time comes, you’re prepared and ready to embrace the magic.

1. Stay healthy & exercise.

This one may sound silly, but it’s true. We guarantee you’ll be doing a lot of walking during a trip to Disneyland® Resort. Many guests walk 8+ miles a day while exploring all that resort has to offer. Sore feet and being out of breath can put a damper on a fun trip. The more you prepare your body and stay healthy now, the more you’ll be able to maximize your Disney experience and enjoy the vacation. Plus, we could all use the physical and mental health benefits that come along with fresh air, sunshine, and exercise during this time.

2. Watch (or rewatch) your favorite movies.

Disneyland® Resort is fun even if you aren’t familiar with the characters and stories, but it’s even better when you are! Spend some time before your trip watching some of the Disney movies you have never seen or haven’t watched in years. It’s a great way to embrace the nostalgia, psych yourself up for your future trip, and keep the Disney magic alive while the parks are closed due to COVID-19. If they haven’t seen them already, the classic movies are also a great way to introduce your kids to new characters — maybe even your favorite from when you were little — and talk about what or who they might see while they’re around the parks.

3. Plan a budget.

Nobody wants to be stressed or thinking about money while they’re on vacation. That’s why there’s no time like the present to start saving and budgeting for your trip to Disneyland® Resort. We recommend researching and compiling a spreadsheet with estimated costs. Include known expenses, such as lodging and park tickets, as well unknowns, like food and souvenirs. Budgeting and saving money ahead of time allows you ample time to search for good deals and minimize financial surprises along the way.

4. Make a Disneyland® Resort “must-do” list.

When it comes to Disneyland® Resort, there’s so much to do and so little time. Most people will tell you that it’s nearly impossible to fit everything in on one trip. On top of that, your friends or family members may not want to do everything you want to do. That’s why we recommend doing your research, talking with your travel companions, and making a Disneyland® Resort “must-do” list full of the top things you simply can’t miss while you’re at Disneyland® Resort. That way, everyone is sure to have fun and you can easily plan your daily itinerary when the time comes.

5. Shop online.

Will you need new luggage for the trip? Do you need some Disney-themed attire or an autograph book? From booking your hotel room to getting travel accessories, the internet is a great place to get everything you need for your trip. Who cares if it sits in your closet for a while? Shopping online over time allows you to spread out the costs and minimizes worry about delays, out-of-stock items, or rushing to pack for Disneyland® Resort at the last minute. Plus, if you shop early, you can research and take advantage of special deals, sales, and discounts to help you save money.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to Anaheim. In the meantime, keep dreaming and planning. Magic awaits.
