Disneyland is always a popular destination, and to make the most of your vacation time this spring we wanted to offer up some tips and must-do events going on in the Magic Kingdom and at our castle for spring break 2018.
Easter is April 1 this year, but the Disneyland starts the fun early with its Egg-stravaganza scavenger hunt that runs from March 16 -April 1. Pick up a map and stickers for $5.99 (plus tax) at select merchandise locations throughout Disneyland Resort then the hunt is on as you search for special hidden “eggs” themed to Disney and Pixar characters. Record your finds on the map and then redeem your map for a special surprise at the following locations, Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure park; Disney Showcase in Disneyland park; and World of Disney Store in the Downtown Disney District.
Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel has an egg hunt to hop to as well. Our own Princess Corinne along with the Easter Bunny will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday, April 1, at 8 a.m. on the grounds of the castle. The hunt is open to registered guests 9 years old and under. Stop by the front desk to register and get your free participation ticket. This royal invitation also includes a meet and greet with the Princess and Easter Bunny.
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is already in full swing and it runs until April 12, 2018. This trip for your taste buds pairs delicious food and wine selections daily, plus special workshops, classes, and weekend premium experiences. Catch Chef Robert Irvine LIVE! At the Hyperion, Friday, March 30 at 8 p.m. The cost is $99 per person, plus tax and gratuities for servers. Theme park admission is not required for this event. Chef Irvine creates his signature dishes live on stage followed by a fun tasting.
For an exclusive VIP experience consider the 1930’s inspired winemaker dinner at Disney California Adventure Park’s famed Carthay Circle Restaurant and for extra points come dressed in your best 1930’s attire. This event celebrating David Arthur Vineyards is limited to 24 guests and includes a four-course dinner created by Carthay Circle’s Executive Chef Andrew Sutton.
For the kids in the family let them try their hand at being a Jr. Chef with Chef Goofy. This is a free activity in the Hollywood Backlot in California Adventure and is available on a first-come, first-served basis for children ages 3 to 11. It’s hands-on, messy fun, and in the end, a “magic oven” gives each child a special baked treat.
And perhaps best of all during this special event, you can sample California-inspired cuisine in small plate sizes at the festival marketplace kiosks throughout the park.
For mid to late April spring breakers make sure you catch the highly anticipated Pixar Fest which goes live April 13 in both parks. Woody, Buzz, and all your Pixar favorites are celebrated during this limited-time event. Running through Sept. 3, 2018, the fest will debut a new nighttime spectacular, the return of two parades as well as limited-edition merchandise and themed food and drink choices. While Disney hasn’t revealed their full plans for special food treats or merchandise, they have teased an exclusive Pixar Fest charm bracelet. Guests will be able to mix friendship messages with favorite Pixar characters to create individual bracelets.
To top it all off, spring weather averages in Anaheim range from a high of 75 degrees to lows in the mid to low 50s, making it a great weather to take advantage of Disneyland’s full entertainment schedule and late park closing times for most of the month.
