15 Things for Adults to do at Disneyland® Resort – Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel

View of Disneyland Resort

When most people picture a vacation to Disneyland® Resort, it’s often assumed that kids will be in tow. That’s not always the case though!  An adults-only trip to Disneyland® Resort is a perfect excuse to treat yourself like a kid again! Think about it, during an adults-only trip, you can choose every activity, attraction, and restaurant that you go to throughout your stay in Anaheim! Whether you set out to relive a favorite childhood memory, or you’re just looking for a little magic on your next vacation, Disneyland® Resort is the perfect destination!

1. First, coffee

With our without kids, you’re going to want a delicious cup of coffee or other pick me up to start your day of fun-filled amusement rides and character fun! Of course, you’ll find Starbucks at the park, but there are plenty of cute cafés and restaurants for you to explore!

Stop by the Jolly Holiday Bakery to enjoy espressos made from their real espresso machine and try out their infamous Matterhorn Macaroon. The Cappuccino Cart is located right next to the castle and doesn’t just offer coffee! Try out their unique and delicious pastries to keep you tied over until you can have a full meal. The Hungry Bear Restaurant is always switching up their specialty brews, offering you new flavors that you’ll love. The restaurant also comes with a great view of Tom Sawyer Island and the entrance to Galaxy’s Edge! Start your morning slowly with a leisurely cup of incredible coffee before the adventure begins!

2. Enjoy Disneyland® Resort themed desserts

Vacations are for treating yourself, and at Disneyland® Resort they make it easy! There are many favorite desserts that you can find around the resort, including one of our favorites, Dole Whip, which is a mixture of vanilla ice cream, pineapple chunks, and pineapple juice. Refreshing! You can also find this sweet, summery treat in other flavor options such as mango, strawberry, and more!

It’s important that you save room for Mickey-shaped beignets, fudge, and Cars Land churro bites. While walking through the resort, you’re sure to find themed desserts that will leave you craving more! As an adult at Disneyland® Resort, the sky is the limit when it comes to how many desserts you sample, so take advantage!

3. Go on your favorite rides

With no little ones to keep happy, you can check out all the rides that you’ve always heard of or have wanted to experience! Disneyland® Resort currently has 58 attractions that you can choose from. Their number one ride right now is the Star Wars: Rise of Resistance, which takes you to a galaxy far far away in the world of Star Wars!

You’re going to love experiencing each and every attraction at Disneyland® Resort, so plan the rides that you hope to go on now!

4. Adult-favorite attractions

Not sure where to start? Some of the best Disneyland® Resort attractions for adults  include: Haunted Mansion (located in New Orleans Square), Matterhorn Bobsleds (located in Fantasyland), Indiana Jones Adventure (located in Adventureland), Pirates of the Caribbean® Attraction (located in New Orleans Square), Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (located in Frontierland), and Splash Mountain (located in Critter Country).

These rides are much-loved by adults and bring back the nostalgia of childhood, you won’t want to miss out on experiencing them!

5. Single rider benefits

Shorten your wait time and make a bee line for the single rider lines! Single riders are able to shorten their wait time significantly by being placed on a ride where an extra spot needs to be filled. Children can’t be separated from their guardians, so without them, you can skip the line, getting to experience more rides and excitement at the park!

6. Enjoy Lightning Lanes

A lightning lane is the term used for being a priority queue and getting onto the ride faster. You can pay for this as an add-on service using Genie+ for high-demand rides at the resort. Attractions that are not part of Genie+ have a per-attraction fee where you can get the next available turn time to get the lightning lane. A maximum of two individual lightning lanes can be made per-day. Learn more here

7. Revisit your favorites characters and attractions

If you haven’t been to Disneyland® Resort since you were a kid or have never been, you’re going to love seeing your favorite characters in person and reliving those childhood memories!

Participate in the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, go and ride Snow White’s Enchanted Wish, or face down Zurg in Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters! Your favorite characters will quickly come to life, and as you go around the resort, you’ll see characters that each bring back memories from your childhood.

8. Go with friends and family members

Plan an adults-only trip and invite your nearest and dearest! Friends and family members make great travel buddies and you’ll make lasting memories as you tour the resort and experience new adventures. You’re going to love the company and will appreciate the moments that you can look back on once your vacation is over.

9. Meet Disneyland® Resort loving friends

Planning a solo trip to Disneyland® Resort? You’re sure to meet new friends at the resort! There are social media meet-up groups that allow you to find other character-loving adults. It’s a great way to meet new people you can spend some quality time with while you’re here!

10. Stay at the park longer

Without children with you at Disneyland® Resort, you don’t have to worry so much about bedtime! Stay out longer than you normally would’ve and enjoy the company of other adults at the resort. You can bond over the rides that you’ve experienced and possibly meet up with others to enjoy a day at the resort together!

Staying at the park longer also opens up the opportunity for it to be a romantic experience for you and your significant other. Go wine tasting and enjoy some pasta at the Alfresco Tasting Terrace. See the castle at night and take in the beauty of the resort – you’re going to love it!

11. Dress up for After Dark parties

Every day is a party at Disneyland® Resort, but experiencing an After Dark party is even better! The parties are usually ticketed events that begin after the park is closed around 8 pm. Each party has a different theme including, Star Wars, 90s Nite, 80s Nite, Pixar Nite, Villains Nite, Super Heros, and more. Remember, there are some rules regarding costumes, so make sure that any costume you choose meets those requirements.

12. Dining and drinks

A leisurely meal isn’t something that most parents are able to enjoy with the kids at Disneyland® Resort. But during your adults trip you can really make the most of meal time and enjoy the night while it lasts! Take your friend, family member, significant other, or yourself out for a delicious meal and some themed drinks!

We recommend stopping by the Lamplight Lounge, at Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure® Park. It offers a gastropub menu where you can dine among sketches, toys, and other Pixar memorabilia. If you want to make sure that you can grab a drink, head over to Oga’s Cantina, at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Jedis, smugglers, and bounty hunters can all come together to enjoy a drink! There are so many more options for you to choose from, and as you go through the park, we’re sure that you’ll find plenty of new favorite restaurants!

13. Treat yourself during your Disneyland® Park experience

While you’re here, you can create the experience that you have always hoped for. You don’t have to feel guilty about spending a little more to surprise your significant other with a special dessert. You can opt-in to skipping some lines to reduce your wait time. Make this vacation as magical as you want, you’re in charge now! Everyone at Disneyland® Resort wants to make sure that you’re having the best possible experience, so if you have any questions or would like something magical to happen, just let them know!

14. Get those Mickey ears

Disneyland® Park balloons are easily a guest favorite. You’ll see them everywhere swaying in the wind, so grab one on your way home to remember your experience at the resort. The balloons have the silhouette of Mickey’s ears on the inside surrounded by a clear bubble. Some of these balloons also have a flashing light in them to light up your way around the resort. Each balloon can easily be brought home as they can be deflated and blown back up again later!
