Seal Beach gets its name from the seals that once frequented its beachfront, but it’s now a quiet little beach town with cute neighborhoods. The 1.5 miles of beach are ideal for kitesurfing, windsurfing and building sandcastles. Seal Beach is also home to the second longest wooden pier in the state of California, which was built in the early 1900s and rebuilt in the 1980s after a storm.
